About Ming Pu
A native of Taiwan, Ming Pu credits his mother for instilling in him a true passion for cooking. At the age of 7, Pu and his family moved to Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada where they lived for two years before making Louisville their permanent home in 1999. Along the way, Chef Pu has gained a diverse food vocabulary of Asian techniques and French ingredients that are evident today in his melting pot of New American cuisine at 502 Bar & Bistro. He has been a featured guest chef at multiple events including the Charleston Wine & Food Festival 2018, Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair 2018, and Atlanta Food & Wine 2018 among many others. Recently Pu was was Named FSR Magazine 40 Under 40: Restaurant Stars on the Rise. Pu recently attended the James Beard Boot Camp Shelburne Farms in Vermont making him a James Beard Boot Camp Alum '19.
