About Meredith Pittman
While earning a degree in Culinary Essentials at L’Ecole Culinaire in Memphis, Tenn., she began honing her skills on the hot line at Restaurant Iris under renowned chef Kelly English. She started with prep and worked her way up to running the line. Upon the opening of The Second Line, Restaurant Iris’s sister restaurant, Pittman gained the position of sous chef. She worked closely with English in the kitchen as well as cooking for several culinary events such as La Bon Appetit, Atlanta Food & Wine, and multiple James Beard dinners. In August 2015, Pittman was given the amazing opportunity of opening another Second Line location in Oxford, Miss., where she held the position of General Manager and Chef de Cuisine. After a year of manning front and back of house operations at The Second Line, Meredith got yet another opportunity to expand her culinary knowledge when she received an offer to work alongside James Beard semi-finalist, Derek Emerson. She can currently be found at CAET Wine Bar in the Fondren District of Jackson, Miss., whipping up creative, locally sourced additions for the ever-evolving menu.
