About Erbin Garcia
A Downtown Los Angeles native, Erbin Garcia has witnessed the transformation of the city’s craft cocktail scene firsthand. Garcia was introduced into the bar scene by his father, who was also a bartender, and started off as a bar back at The Tar Pit, a popular LA lounge that has since closed. From there, in 2010, Garcia moved on to work as a bar back at two popular downtown bars, The Onyx, and the acclaimed 213 Hospitality group’s Caña Rum Bar. Garcia’s lively personality and detail-oriented nature were quickly noticed by the Caña Rum Bar team, and over the course of the past seven years he continued to rise until he became the bar’s General Manager, a position he’s held since 2014. LA’s most intimate and evocative rum bar, Caña is one of the largest houses of rum in the country – featuring over 250 rums to savor – and elevates rum cocktails by focusing on the historic origins of the Western Hemisphere’s most storied spirit. As the bar’s General Manager, Garcia takes a hands-on approach, leading his staff with great care, consistently researching new and exciting rums to add to Caña’s extensive collection, training staff, and profiling each bottle to accurately portray their flavors for guests participating in private tastings and Caña Rum Bar’s Rum Collective.
