About Chantal Martineau
A Montreal native now based in New York, Chantal Martineau writes about wine, spirits, food, travel, and culture. Her writing (sometimes accompanied by her own photography) has appeared in Vogue, Food & Wine, Saveur, Surface, Departures, The Atlantic, the Financial Times, AFAR, and more. She is the author of the 2015 book How the Gringos Stole Tequila, about the rise of Mexico’s most famous liquid export, and the forthcoming Finding Mezcal, co-written with the artist and Del Maguey founder Ron Cooper. When she's not sipping agave spirits, she's drinking fizzy wine or dry sherry, standing on her head, baking sourdough, or throwing pots (on a wheel, not in rage). She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and daughter.
