About George Pagonis
Greek American born and raised in Alexandria Virginia. Grew up in family diner business, realizing cooking was the path for me. Attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Worked several years in NYC at Le Cirque, and for Charlie Palmer at Aureole. Moved back to DC and worked for Jose Andreas at Zaytinya, where I rediscovered my passion for Greek Food. Opened my first restaurant, Kapnos in Washington DC in 2013, followed by two more. Competed on Top Chef Season 12, Boston.
