About Matt Kerney
A native of Plainfield, Michelin-starred Chef Matt Kerney began working at restaurants as a busboy, quickly working his way into the kitchen. In Chicago, he got his start at Ambria, then spent two years at Schwa, and took a Sous and eventual Executive Chef position at the Hubbard Inn thereafter. Kerney joined the Longman team in August of 2013, brought in as Executive Sous Chef. In 2018, he opened his own restaurant, Brass Heart, an intimate 20-seat restaurant that serves a 15-course tasting menu, in North Side Chicago.
