About Copper Spoon

Copper Spoon is the next step for Vita Simone and Carmen Anderson after the success of their short lived East Bay food truck, Sassafras Seagrass. Mobile food was an exciting experience to test the waters and gain a following for their decadently flavorful conscious California cuisine, but lacked the touch of their true passion for the full dining experience. Copper Spoon supper club will be the experimental stage of the soon to be restaurant and bar opening in Oakland California. They are pleased to be featuring their brand new menu that focuses on California cuisine with Japanese/Korean influence. Copper Spoon dining experience is designed to rejuvenate through nurturing food, libations and ambiance. Vita Simone will be running the bar program. Vita is one of the most talented, well known and followed bartenders in Oakland. Her skill as a mixologist has been brewing since she was a young girl on her dad’s farm. She has built her talent and following over the last 10 years in the Bay Area as she has presided over some of the best bars such as Prizefighter in Emeryville, Dogwood in Oakland and BIG in San Francisco. Astrophysicist Carmen Anderson not only adores the numbers side of owning a restaurant and bar, but also enjoys scientifically fermenting house-made items combined with farmers market ingredients. Carmen has been working in Oakland for the last five years building an understanding of the business and market. Carmen and Vita have recently teamed up with a well versed chef who is equally passionate about creating a unique Califronia menu. With extensive experience in Japanese and Californian cuisine, he will be elevating the food from Sassafras to match the caliber of what will be served at Copper Spoon
