About Francis Bassa
With a focus on invoking familiar food memories, Francis Bassa creates dining experiences that present combinations of unaccustomed to flavors and ingredients while using traditional, mostly French, techniques. “No Ticket, No Taco” is a series of pop-up dinners seeking to share his fond food memories while highlight local farms and produce. Francis most recently served as Chef de Cuisine at the Standard Hotel, Hollywood, overseeing the six-month residency of Alma at the Standard. The successful pop-up led to the eventual takeover of all food and drinks at the hotel from the restaurant inside to the pool deck and room service. Francis was Sous Chef at the original Alma in downtown Los Angeles. He has also worked under José Andrés at The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.
