About Julia Levy
Growing up, I might have won "the pickiest eater" award from my family. Now, I'm just selective. At Jewish sleepaway camp, I survived on PB&J. At home, I served as dessert sous-chef to Grandma Betty when she visited and aspired to be Yan Can Cook when watching PBS with my family. In college, Cornell's Hotel Management School's talented culinary team introduced me to cuisines and flavors. And the local Ithaca Farmer's Market connected me with the farm-to-table movement. When I moved to NYC, I blogged for Gothamist, covering food events like City Harvest's Chef's Fight Hunter Fundraiser. Now, my passion for food continues by learning at Brooklyn Brainery courses, reading about historical gastronomy on food blog "Four Pounds Flour," and hosting dinner parties with friends (always more entertaining with a home-made photo booth).
