Chef Mari has been running top-tier Japanese restaurants and teaching classes for the last 10 years. Her class was highlighted by Sunset Magazine in 2013. She opened up Nombe in 2009 which received Top 100 honors from the SF Chronicle in 2010, a Michelin Recommended acknowledgement in 2011, an SF Bay Guardian Best of the Bay Editor's Pick in 2013, and was named one of the Top 6 Izakaya restaurants in the US by Bon Appetit.
