About Uyen Vitti
I was blessed with a lifetime of food memories from two warring parents, one from North Vietnam and the other from South Vietnam. The passion they had for everyday home cooking was matched only by their belief in whose cuisine was the best. Luckily for me as the prep cook for both of them, I never had to decide. When I "grew up" I worked restaurants and catered for years as waitstaff, happy to serve up other cuisines of the world. But I never quite forgot my first love. On weekends I'd find myself experimenting in the kitchen, trying to recreate those memories again, first by myself and then with friends. Twenty years later, the taste of Vietnamese food still hits me right in the heart. I hope it will find a home in yours too.
