About Matthew Cruz
Former Executive Sous Chef of Lazy Bear, Cruz helped the revered pop up transform to brick and mortar, while being pivotal in achieving many accolades along the way. Including 3.5 stars from SF Chronicle's Michael Bauer, Bon Appétit "Top 50 Best New Restaurants," James Beard Nomination for "Best New Restaurant," and a prestigious Michelin star. Cruz was also named one of Zagats 30 under 30 in 2015. His philosophy on food is rooted in using local, seasonal ingredients with inspiration from Japanese, French and modern cooking. Cruz is now exploring his own pop-up dining experiences.
