About Pam Brewer
Nothing makes me happier than food that is lovingly prepared. If it's made with local ingredients - so fresh they're jumping off the plate - even better. I am a cheesemonger by day, adventurous home cook by night, and I can't wait to welcome fellow Feasters into my home and show you what it means to "party like a cheesemonger!" Ok. That's not a saying.. But together, let's make it one! Besides cutting cheese for a living (everyone's allowed ONE fart joke) at Saxelby Cheesemongers, some places where I've honed cooking and teaching skills over the years include Slow Food USA, The Good Fork, Eagle Street Rooftop Farm, and City Harvest. All have informed my understanding of what it means to eat consciously and with reverence to the ingredient, the land in which it grew, and all of the people who brought it to our plate. I've also been fortunate enough to spend time in East Asia, India, Southern Africa, Morocco, and France and am constantly recreating the tastes of my travels here in Brooklyn. But enough about me! To quote the stunningly apt Virginia Woolf, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." Let's dine well, shall we?
