About Sole Anatrone
I am a passionate home-cook with a strong italian and Californian palate. I have been cooking since I was a child, occasionally teaching cooking classes or catering, but mainly preparing delicious meals as an excuse for spending time with my friends. I tend to cook with local, seasonal ingredients but I tend to value flavor and pleasure over politics when it comes to food. Having grown up partially in Italy and partially in the Santa Cruz mountains, the idea of cooking from scratch is the only way I know how to operate in the kitchen. I have worked as a teacher and educator for years and am currently finishing a PhD in Italian Studies at UC Berkeley. Education, community and food come together for me in nearly all aspects of my life and certainly around the table.
