About Michelle Burns
My mother's side of the family is Pennsylvania Dutch, but I grew up with my parents in the Southeast U.S. This gave me exposure to two amazing regional cuisines, and since becoming vegan in 2004 I've gathered a wealth of information about how to "veganize" my childhood favorites! I love teaching other vegans and curious people how they can recreate their favorite comfort foods as well, and stay connected to their culture while enjoying the benefits of a vegan diet. My blog, Rivels and Grits, is devoted to this passion. My partner, Todd Bell, who will co-host with me, is bilingual (Spanish and English) and also a fabulous cook; he can offer cooking demonstrations of vegan Latin cuisine and gourmet pizzas.
