About Rita Herniangkit
I am an Indonesian chef born and raised in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Before moving to the States thirteen years ago I barely knew how to cook. I quickly learned how to prepare Indonesian food through family parties in addition to studying cookbooks. Eventually, my interest in cooking led me to culinary school, which I graduated from in 2012. I have been working in various restaurants since and I am so happy and proud to be introducing Indonesian cuisine here in Portland.
