About Zena Hassoun

Coming from Syrian-Palestinian descent, I was constantly exposed to the Mediterranean cuisine growing up. I love Middle Eastern food, but after going vegan, I was enticed by the challenge of recreating the classic Arabic dishes I grew up with, entirely plant based, with a modern twist. I aim to create innovative and colorful dishes that even the pickiest members of my friends and family, most of which are not even vegetarian, would love. I created Zena 'n Zaatar in 2016 to share my love of food, cooking, and art with others, by designing nutritious, yet tasty plant-based recipes. I hope to use Feastly to share the fragrant flavors of the Mediterranean cuisine I grew to love so much with those who have never experienced such rich, but delicate and simple dishes.
