About Chocollective Co

Our lead Chef Serigne Mbaye was born in the United States, and when he was 5 his parents sent him back to their native Senegal for boarding school. In recent years, he has cooked at Commander's Palace and then Café Adelaide, where he was a sous chef and then San Francisco’s Atelier Crenn. This year he was awarded the Paul McIlhenny Culinary Scholarship at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum, where he holds regular pop-up dinners exploring the connections between the foods of Louisiana and West Africa.
