About Luis Contreras
Luis Contreras most recently oversaw two highly praised restaurants in San Francisco, Mamacita and Padrecito where he was able to achieve two three-star reviews and a Top 100 award five years in a row from the San Francisco Chronicle. Michelin Guide also awarded Mamacita with six Bib Gourmand awards. With over 14 years of experience, he has worked in some of the most demanding kitchens in the bay area. After having visited Portland for a few years, he made the move to the Northwest to continue his passion for Mexican cuisine. Chelo is named for and pays homage to his grandmother whohe continues to draw inspiration from.
