Yes, it's really May already. Which means we've got a whole new batch of pop-up events for your enjoyment. Treat your mom to an early Mother's Day brunch filled with Comté and ham, or Latvian pancakes on Mother's Day proper. Or just treat yo self to a truffle making class or Iranian bar bites with a glass of wine. We're not here to judge.

Early To Rise: Ham, Egg, and Comté Sandwich

The Art of Making Chocolate Truffles

Join Socola Chocolatier co-founder Wendy Lieu for a hands-on workshop on the art of making chocolate truffles. You’ll learn it all, from making ganache to the proper technique to temper chocolate, then enjoy a taste of your efforts.

Your Host: Wendy Lieu is the Chief Chocolatier and owner of Socola Chocolatier + Barista with her twin sister. She began experimenting with Klutz's Cookbook for Kids at age nine and with truffle recipes at age nineteen. Mostly self-taught, she finds that her thoughts wander frequently now to new truffle recipes, and she’s even begun dreaming up ganache concoctions in her sleep.


Hawaii: A Culinary Crossroads

Dive into the rich culinary history of Hawaiian cuisine with this special pop-up series. Chef Eric Pascual will present a 6-course dinner in collaboration with Lanai Tabura (the Food Network and Cooking Hawaiian Style) who will discuss the rich history that immigrants have had on Hawaiian food.

Your Host: Eric Pascual was born and raised in the Bay Area, but spent much of his childhood in Hawaii shadowing his grandparents around the kitchen.
