The term “Drink Responsibly” gets thrown around a lot, but what does that really mean? We like Redbreast’s take: “Taste Responsibly” as taste to us here means: “Hey, pay attention.” This isn’t the stuff to just throw back, but something to mark occasions, to ceremoniously toast with, to slowly sip while working out thoughts or over a good conversation.

With its clean honeyed nose, mid notes of vanilla and sherry, and a lightly peppered feistiness on the finish, Redbreast 12 Year is a whiskey worth taking your time with.

As some of the OGs of Single Pot Distillate Whiskey, the distillers at Redbreast understand that applying the right amount of heat and pressure to their raw components, then letting them barrel age, yields unparalleled results. That no matter how high the demand, cutting corners is not an option. It’s like they get us!

That’s why ChefsFeed recently partnered with Redbreast to invite our community of folks whose job it is to bring others joy through food and drink, to an exclusive evening where they got to savor well-crafted cocktails and thoughtfully paired plates at nobody’s pace but their own. While we wish you could have been there with us, we’ve got this recipe for Redbreast 12 Year’s Old Fashioned for you to mark your own momentous occasions at home:

Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Redbreast 12 Year Old Irish Whiskey, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 Sugar cube

Preparation: Place sugar cube in old fashioned glass and saturate with bitters. Muddle until dissolved. Fill the glass with ice cubes and add whiskey. Garnish with orange slice.
