Chef Zoe Schor came up working for Thomas Keller and Tom Colicchio, and that pedigree has led her to open one of Chicago’s most beloved restaurants, Split Rail. When she’s not in boss mode over there, she dips to Mi Tocaya Antojeria.


When to go and where to sit:

“I like to go on a Sunday and sit at the bar. I usually go alone. I think the bartender is the best server in a restaurant, they’re always right there in front of you.”

What to order:

“I like to get a steak burrito, with a side of beans and rice. They also have great small plates to share.”

What to drink:

“They have really great plays on the classics, like the Oaxacan old-fashioned. Sometimes I will just go and drink negronis.”
