Where do NL Pennant Champions celebrate? We’ve got the scoop

SF Giants celebrate with Tipsy Pig staff.

After winning the National League pennant last night, the San Francisco Giants could have gone anywhere and done anything they wanted (in true cockroach form). “Million dollar cocktails” at The Starlight Room? Champagne and caviar at restaurant Michael Mina?

Not for these guys.

They went to The Tipsy Pig on Chestnut Street.

“They acted as if they were just someone from off the street. No pomp and circumstance,” said David Upton, The Tipsy Pig’s restaurant manager.

It’s not the first time they’ve celebrated their NLCS win at The Pig before either. They were spotted there in 2010, too, then went on to win the World Series.

“Ryan Vogelsong’s wife mentioned to me that when they win the NLC that like to go to The Tipsy Pig. It’s a superstitious thing,” Upton said.

Celebrating along with Ryan Vogelsong were Madison Bumgarner (NLCS MVP), Javier Lopez, Hunter Strickland, Jake Peavy (with his brother and other family members) and Joe Panik, Upton said. “It was a pleasure for me to host them and it was so low key that it was like having a party at my own home.”

Their celebratory beverage of choice? Crown Royal and gingers. Hopefully they’ll continue to lap up the Royals next week when they’re in Kansas City.
