1. What's the most important thing that's ever happened to you?

2. What happens to your mind when you cook?  
Shuts down.

3. If you had to be dunked in a tank full of some kind of food product, what would you prefer it be? 
Definitely jello, mango flavored.
4. Most underrated flavor, ever:
Without question our lemon yogurt -- bio-dynamic (really good) yogurt, fresh squeezed lemon juice, zest, cream and milk.

5. Biggest triumph?
Winning the James Beard Award. 

6. Biggest misconception people have about your job?
That it's crafty.

7. Something you learned recently that blows your mind:
Resting bitch face.

8. Happy place:
A cold, crowded public swimming pool on a very hot cloudless day.

9. Sunday morning ritual:
Caftan. Coffee. Newspaper. Alka seltzer.

10. Secret skill:
Gosh, I don't know. 

11. Who's your favorite person in the world? Why?
My husband and co-conspirator, Charly Bauer. We have had an incredible adventure over the last 16 years and it seems like we're just getting going.

12. Last book you read:
All the Light We Cannot See. 

13. What music do you play when you're pumping yourself up?
The Stones, Exile on Main Street.

14. Outer space or deep ocean? 
Outer space. I'm there right now.

15. How would you describe your outlook on life?
Wide open. 

16. Can you ever tell what flavor of ice cream people want to order before they do? ie, are there Larry David vanilla people??
I have learned never to try. People are always surprising me.

17. Drink of choice at the end of the day:
Recently: vermouth + soda water with three giant pimento olives and a thick slice of orange. 

18. Professional Idol:
I don't think that way, but I am always in awe of people who seek the truth without fear. I want to be near them.

19. Do you like surprises?
Absolutely positively hate them, and everyone who knows me knows it!

20. How can ice cream save the world?
It can't. Man, I wish it could. It's overwhelming to think about making the whole world better. I prefer to solve one problem at a time and just to try to live by our values everyday, even, and especially, when the going gets tough.
