Music, meat, & fatherhood.

Top Ten. Exactly what it sounds like: we ask chefs for the top ten things rocking their world at the moment, be it fish, fowl, or uh, cross-stitch. This week, the bearded and excellent Matt Farley.

1. Chauhan Ale & Masala House

I've had two really great meals there recently. Can't wait to get in there again! Nashville needed this restaurant.

2. Pugwash

Really incredible Irish band that I'm addicted to lately.

3. Rolf and Daughters

Seems to be the most consistent restaurant in Nashville. Never had a miss there, always a great experience.

4. Obsessed with recording

Finishing a record that I have been working on for a while. Feels like years. This is music that I have written over the last few years.

5. Reading Menus

On the Internet. Constantly.

6. Looking at musical gear

I spend a ton of time when I'm not at work playing and writing music. And the ongoing search for gear to use for this! LOVE to look at guitars, stomp boxes, amps, drums etc..

7. Charcuterie

I have just hired a very talented chef to do charcuterie for our group. Everything is either on a cure or already hanging. Now we just wait!

8. Being a father

The ever-changing challenge of doing the right thing by your children is always on my mind.

9. Autumn

The fall is my favorite time to cook. Love the flavors, braises, heavier comfort food.

10. The beach!

Counting down the days until I get a break with the family at the beach! Next week!

See how Farley makes music for your mouth over at Nashville's The Southern, in SoBro. It's almost too much Southern goodness to handle. Almost. | Art by Liz Noftle
