Top Ten—Evan Bloom, Wise Sons, SAN FRANCISCO
Your best friend in bagel-dom on the stuff your life is missing.

In San Francisco, Evan Bloom is known as one of the guys who gave us Wise Sons, a place that gave us poor sods a decent bagel to lean on, and a Jewish deli to call home. Who says New York and Los Angeles and Montreal and EVERYWHERE ELSE gets to have all the fun? No surprise, the King of seeded glory has a few tips on upgrading the rest of your life too. And: he doesn't know how to pronounce La Croix either.
1. Room service club sandwiches
No matter where in the world you are, if there is room service, there is probably a club sandwich. It's always reliable, and if not amazing, always decent. And it comes with fries. And if you're in a classy joint, the little glass Heinz condiment bottles.
This stuff helps me calm down and sleep. Never thought I’d say it, but it works.
3. Toaster Oven
I cook at home a lot. and I have no patience. I cook most dinners in the toaster oven because I don't want to wait for our gas oven to heat up. I use it for toasting nuts, roasting veggies, and even cooking fish. I've considered getting a second one just so I can stack them and use two at once for dinner.
4. Silicon Valley on HBO
Living in the Bay Area, this show is a parody of something I witness every day. People probably don't realize that it's pretty true to what's going on in SF. These people live among us!
5. Patagonia (the clothing, not the city in South America)
Ok, so these guys are from my hometown. They make the best clothing around — nothing uber-trendy, just solid, well-made, comfortable clothing. When I find something I like there I’ll buy two of them, just so I have a replacement when I ultimately wear something out by wearing it every day. Sometimes, I don't think people recognize me without my pullover.
6. The New York Times
Still the best news source and the best way to keep up on the world. Bonus points for getting a paper copy of the Sunday paper. Social media cannot kill real journalism!
7. Cynar & Soda
Easy to drink and really hard to fuck up. Good before dinner or after dinner. Good at home, good at a bar. Always satisfying.
Just kidding. Fuck those guys.
Sticking needles in my body has changed my life. I was a hater but now I 100 percent believe. I get a natural high that is unparalleled and it helps to keep me even-keeled at work. I’m just a better person to be around.
10. La Croix
Ok, so however you pronounce it you can't deny how delicious and addicting it is. We have a location at a tech cafeteria where the fridges are stocked with all the flavors. I’ll drink four or five a day like nothing.
