"MORE FOOD!! But lord knows I'm a pro and can handle two straight days of gluttony. Dim sum with my favorite peeps @willchen79 @missmitchmak @onsomeisland @zachdiionno @kooldon81 then a bananas late lunch @mwrestaurant , dinner with the family @ynanaz @aukanaii @alohacarol2 @hyuntae75 @musubman @nickysmash921 and a phenomenal coffee tres leches cake from the cake goddess herself, @michellekarrueoka !! This has probably been the best week of my life for many many reasons, but mostly because I am so lucky to be surrounded by so much love and ohana, including my @kokoheadcafe team, who are killing it so I can take this time off (mahalo @cnpunkhi @potatopedlr @eastoahugrown22 @romeoayonar @andrewrecca_808 @yoshenblaze @kekoaikepono @shannonjammin @lliizzzaarrdd ) Best birthday ever. ❤️❤️❤️ #40isthenew30 #ohana #luckywelivehawaii #oahu #hawaii #happybirthdaytome #MAHALO"

"Chef Lea Anne does a "dumpling of the day" at her incredibly delicious "Island Style Brunch House." Mine was filled with minced pork and served on creamy oniony grits with gravy and a spicy-sweet sauce around the plate. A great way to start the morning meal."

"The Opah is cooked after being marinated in sweetened miso, which firms up the flesh and gives it a great savory flavor. The eggs are perfectly scrambled and the ocean rice, with seaweed, is a great accompaniment. Editor's note: the local fish prepared changes seasonally."
