Chef Samantha opened up RUSH PATISSERIE in Deep Ellum in 2007 and moved her shop to Oak Cliff in 2009. Samantha's formal training and technique, her uncompromising standards and passion is reflected in RUSH'S exquisitely crafted desserts, from macarons to elaborate wedding cakes.

"I am not normally a cake girl. I’m more of a tart or pie girl. But, Samantha Rush just kills this one. Cakes usually have too much cake, too little filling, and are dry as the Sahara Desert—so not the case here. She makes it gateau-style: moist lemon and vanilla-scented cake layered with tangy, fresh lemon curd. She seals the cake in torched meringue that stands tall and proud. The combination of tart lemon, light cake, and torched meringue is what lemon cakes should taste like, but rarely do."
