"July 29th -- Market Haul 6 :: Chicories! And more of those sweet baby greens + tat soi leaves AND Russian kale...because kale. Long white daikon, little Mokum carrots, deep purple beets + more magenta turnips bound to be quick pickled, plus sweet onions, summer squash, new red potatoes + picked-this-am corn bound for the grill. The cucumbers, juicy heirloom toms and squash blossoms to be enjoyed just as they are w/the palisade peaches. I don't know what to do w/the yellow watermelon or the little yellow shiro plums yet, or w/the fact that this is THE LAST week for cherries. "July 22nd - Market Haul #5 :: MORE tat soi!! Plus kale, baby greens + purple basil. Purple kohlrabi, purple beans + deep purple beets (for pickling!) Magenta turnips, mokum carrots, perfect summer squash + striped heirloom toms. Little lemon cucumbers, dainty squash blossoms, punchy shishito peppers and perfect palisade peaches. A muskmelon that can't wait to be eaten, raspberries I couldn't wait to eat + all the flowers...😍. I've never realized there was so much color growing, right in my backyard. 🌈"
