Behind the Scenes

Escalopes de veau grillées, sauce aux morilles
"The grilled veal medallions is a must-eat in Vancouver. Chef Michel Jacob is one of the greatest in the city. No visit would be complete without trying his food. His restaurant is an institution."
Collingwood Manhattan
"Mixologists have become as important as chefs. The cocktails that Keith Trusler creates are second to none. Although I love all the cocktails on their menu, try one of my favourites, the Collingwood Manhattan. It features bitters aged in American oak."

Jackfruit in black cardamom & cumin curry
"This is without a doubt one of the best Indian restaurants in North America. The menu is full of great things to try every time. They don’t take reservations, but the wait is part of the experience. The jackfruit in black cardamom and cumin curry is my favourite appetizer, and the lamb popsicles are legendary."

Salted caramel waffle
"The salted caramel waffle is my favourite. One of the best places in the city for brunch, Medina Cafe is the perfect start to a weekend morning, especially if you pair its brunch with a fresh mimosa."

Assorted tempura
"Vancouver has several great Japanese restaurants, but this is a hidden neighbourhood gem that is one of my favourites. I also love the spicy sashimi with avocado."

Fraser Valley duck 2 ways
"Pino Posteraro has always been one of my favourite chefs in the city. His food truly speaks from the heart. Try any of his pastas, as they are simply the best."

"My wife and I love going to the English Bay location (this dish isn't available at every location). The ambiance is nice, the food is consistent, and I love to eat this soup on a cold Vancouver evening. Sometimes I would like to order two servings!"
