Breakfast Torta
"The breakfast torta at La Palma is a perfect exercise in quantity and volume of ingredients for maximum flavor while still being easy to eat. And it is also fucking delicious."

Flour tortillas
"Anything you put on these things is delicious. You can see five or six people in the back constantly making fresh tortillas on a huge, old flat top. It makes for a very different taco than you are used to."
Cheese enchilada
"This is one of my go-to hangover items. The verde sauce is definitely the way to go, with plenty of garlic and roasted tomatillo flavor. I usually end up mixing all the leftover rice and beans into the sauce at the end and always clean my plate."

Torta cubana
"I go to La Palma for the fresh, handmade tortillas and always get a torta Cubana—a massive sandwich with everything under the sun—or some sopes while I'm there."
Pork ribs
"It's not listed on the menu but they pretty much always have these slow roasted pork ribs. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas and salsa. If you want the good salsa, you have to ask for it—no salsa bar here. Pro-tip: ask for some handmade tortillas on the side; it's worth the extra dough. It's the best taqueria in town."
