Today feels weird. Woke up in
"Today feels weird. Woke up in Tallahassee to go to a funeral + found out about Anthony Bourdain. My mom + I sulked north to Thomasville, GA to visit @sweetgrassdairy - a local cheesemaker that has always been very special to me, my fam, and most importantly, my Uncle Bro (who passed away 3 years ago + prompted my move back to Florida). Bro Bro was a chef + a mentor. He was the first person to make me a “fancy” cheese plate (using their chz) + he was also the first person to buy me Anthony Bourdain’s books. I think i feel so strangely devastated because they were both so influential to me becoming chef... and now they’re both gone. All i can say is hug your friends and family today. Ask them how they’re doing. Talk about how you’re doing. Invite them over. Have too much fun. Eat too much food. Let people know you care. Share love + let yourself absorb love. Everyone deserves that. 💕"
