Geovanna began her career in Chicago, where she worked as a pastry chef at the lauded A10 and Table 52. Rumors of Portland's beougeoning food scene lured her to Castagna in early 2015. She cites her parent’s love of sweets as her inspiration to become a pastry chef.

"Epic meal @smythchicago last night. The food and parings were thoughtful, flavorful, exciting and executed perfectly. There was not one dish that was off or sub par. Also 😂😂😂😂😂.. in the booking notes I jokingly wrote “to make our experience more memorable, please have an autographed copy of @chefjohnshields Prom photo with the message to say: “So no one told you life was gonna be this way,Your job's a joke, you're broke , Your love life's D.O.A It's like you're always stuck in second gear When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, Or even your year, but I'll be there for you”.
