About Taylor Stark

Taylor Stark is a Southern California native whose transition to the Pacific Northwest inspired a lifelong dedication and commitment to culinary arts. From 2012-2016, Taylor worked side by side with James Beard nominated and Top Chef runner up Gregory Gourdet at Portland’s Departure. He started as an entry level cook and has progressed to sous chef. In the spring of 2016, Taylor moved from Portland, Oregon to Denver to pursue a new challenge and professional growth as the opening Chef De Cuisine at Departure’s second location in Denver.

"Peking duck glazed foie gras, seven spice roasted duck. Cucumber XO SALAD. Kumquat and a honey mirin peanut butter!!! This year a lot of us we and ate the Peking duck dinner @gg30000 and damn it was good. Greg and I have been running a lot this year and he was nice enough to share his secret recipe with me for some inspiration. This is what I love about the portland restaurant scene. We share, we inspire and we lift each other up"

"8 years ago I was tasked with creating a large, celebratory dish for @nicky.usa very closely to stay up on product timeline. Family and friends have made this an annual tradition.
