About Melissa Beazer

Melissa Beazer is a natural foods cook with a passion for food, health, and happiness. Her goal is to show others how empowering it is to eat well, listen to your body, and live a more sustainable life through a mostly plant-based diet. Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Melissa has always been perpetually hungry and in high school she learned the importance of food as fuel when she began running track and cross-country year- round. In college, Melissa began working in restaurants and took up a minor concentration in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management. Her mind was blown by the vastness of the culinary world and she became an amateur foodie and home cook. After four blissful years of college in sunny South Carolina, Melissa earned her degree in journalism and moved to Washington, DC to pursue a career in marketing and public relations. She burned out after several years of working overtime in the hectic industries of architecture and fashion, and subsequently developed GI issues that left her scratching her head. After some soul searching and a switch to a vegetarian diet, she decided to turn her passion for food into more than just a hobby and began a new career path in health-supportive culinary arts. Melissa graduated from the Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts in 2014. Melissa wants to help others find a diet that feeds their overall happiness and health, whether it’s children in public school or a jet-setting CEO. She believes diet is key to health and everyone deserves a chance to be healthy and happy. When Melissa isn’t cooking, you can find her blogging about food, practicing yoga, window shopping, going to concerts and comedy shows, and obsessing over cute puppies.
