Hello, Seattle. Welcome to The Required club.

If you're not following along at home, this is our experts' version of a "best list." Our Required guides are comprised of the stand-out restaurants that have garnered the all-time most recommendations from our expert community. That's 4000+ all-star chefs, sommeliers, bartenders, and more–no black box of food editor committees or user surveys, just plain, crave-able cred.

Read on to plan your next trip—or just to be sure you've checked all the best boxes on your home turf.

Bakery Nouveau

With treats for both the sweet tooth and the meat tooth in your crew, Bakery Nouveau offers breads, sweet and savory breakfast pastries, pizza, macarons, chocolate confections, and of course, only the best espresso and coffee to savor your snack with. Lucky for you, Bakery Nouveau is so beloved by locals and tourists alike, that they have expanded into three locations in the Seattle area. Keep an eye out for them when you’re out and about and in need of a pick me up.

Tavolata

Located at 2323 2nd Avenue, the OG Tavolata is a Seattle gem. Chef Ethan Stowell's first project in the area, the restaurant's handmade pasta is the stuff of legend. Our experts have been there time and time again and they seem to always recommend a spaghetti or rigatoni dish. Tall, concrete walls with minimalist design and one very long communal table creates an inviting atmosphere where you might just become new besties with the person you are sitting next to. Or it could just be the wine and pasta that’s got you happy and talking. Whichever it is, we know you’re going to enjoy yourself.

Ba Bar

Chef Eric Banh, already on this list with Monsoon, brings Southeast Asian street food to the masses at Ba Bar. We all know that street food generally represents the heartbeat of its local culture. Chef Banh has brought to Seattle the best of what he’s learned eating his way through the markets of Southeast Asia, with dishes like mung bean dumplings, spiced pork belly, and a variety of phō. With three locations in Seattle, Ba Bar is not to be missed.
