The essential noodles, pizza, and bits of old Seattle to put on your list for your next visit.

Chef Cam Hanin has 14+ years in the restaurant industry, notably working as the executive chef for Mark Fuller Restaurants. Recently, he did what we all wish we could do, stepped back to run Guerilla Pizza Kitchen,  a Seattle-based pizza pop-up, full time. Go Cam! Here's what this Seattle pizza pro puts on his starting line up.

SPLURGE

I tend to not splurge too much these days, but I'd probably go with Spinasse or Sushi Kappo Tamura.

Spinasse is another one that's been around for a while and is still good every time you go. The tajarin is about as close to a perfect plate of pasta you can get. If there are stuffed cabbage rolls on the menu that day definitely get them, and then order one to go and bring it to me, please. Stuart, if you're reading this, what do I have to convince you to make a plate of lasagna?

Sushi Kappo probably has the best chawanmushi I've had. Comfortable space, knowledgeable staff who don't mind helping navigate the sake menu.

DRINKS

Dynasty Room and Fort St. George are both spots in the ID (International District). There is always something going on at Dynasty.

The space is awesome and super unique, they took over an old Chinese restaurant and put a cocktail bar in it. Enjoy it while it lasts because the building is slated for demo soon. And Fort St. George is just kind of a cool little dive bar down there with the bonus of having Maekawa next door that does all the food (garlic mayo spaghetti is life). I also have to give a head nod to one of my favorite dive bars, the Boxcar. The only place I've been audibly scoffed at when I told a patron, no, I was not a fisherman. There is also really terrible karaoke. Like bad bad. It's great!

SHOPPING & ENTERTAINMENT

I've been wearing the same Levi's for like 3 years so I'm probably not the best person to ask about shopping. Sugar Hill, Bar Ciudad and Dynasty Room are all good for food events, music events, and sometimes both at the same time.
