"The rice noodles, bean sprouts, broccoli, and fish sauce come together to make an out-of-this-world dish. I like to order mine with chicken."

"These are a classic, and during this time of the year, classics are my favorite; they bring back memories of growing up and eating cookies during the holidays. I love the delicate crumb of this snickerdoodle."

"Burgers just don't get any better than those from Beck's Prime. The standard half-pound Angus chuck hamburger patty is served on a homemade buttery, yellow bun that people of all ages enjoy. Of course, they have a lot of varieties and toppings to the burger, but I like to stick with the classics."

"As an appetizer, we always get the tabouli-hummus combo, and then we each always get the lamb and beef gyro sandwich. The place is crazy busy every time we go. The staff is very well-trained, and they put you at ease in the harried atmosphere. The portions are large and the food is very fresh. We like to sit outside when we can get a table out there. The people-watching is some of the best in Montrose."

"Hubcap's burgers come with a handmade ground chuck patty and a fresh bun, as well as shredded iceberg and fresh tomatoes. For burgers and fries in Houston, it doesn’t get any better."

"This is the best falafel in town. When I used to live on the west side of Houston and had to commute, their falafel was the perfect eat-in-the-car food. Even Phoenicia's shawarmas are really good, moist with a nice tahini flavor."

"Catalina has such a nice intimacy to it. The people who work here are very gracious, and the baristas makes designs out of the cappuccino foam. In fact, I've seen people take pictures of their cappuccinos and post them on Facebook. I also like the biscotti they give you with your coffee."

"Huynh’s has a really delicious baby bok choy dish that they stir-fry with garlic. The restaurant is located off St. Emanuel and maintains a pretty low-key profile. Another plus for the restaurant is that it’s BYOB so I can bring my own wine."

"This salad is a perfect mix of shredded duck, cabbage, and fresh herbs tossed with their housemade ginger sauce. It's a balanced blend of salty, sour, and sweet. It's one of my favorite go-to’s."
