YouTube or Zoom?

The first thing you'll need to decide is which to use: YouTube or Zoom?

With YouTube you can use ChefsFeed’s channel to livestream your class. To do so, we will require a quick call to walk through setup and livestream best practices. The one downside to YouTube is that you won't be able to see your guests; your video will be the only video that guests see (which is really the whole point), and they will communicate with you through a live interactive chat box. With Zoom, you are also welcome to use a personal Zoom (or something similar) account, if you prefer a more intimate class setting where all guests can see each other.

IMPORTANT! Before making your 1st event live, please contact your ChefsFeed support rep to verify setup. Of course, do let ChefsFeed know if you have any questions along the way!

Here are step-by-step instructions for setting up a livestream class on YouTube:

STEP 1 – Switch YouTube Account

Go to youtube.com. Change the account to ChefsFeed by clicking the profile bubble in the top right corner and select Switch account.

STEP 2 – SELECT CAMERA FEED

Once you're on the correct account, select the camera icon with the + in the top navigation bar. Then select "Go Live".

STEP 3 -  PREPARE YOUTUBE LIVE STUDIO

You should now be in “dark mode” YouTube Live Studio. On the left-hand navigation bar, make sure “Webcam” is selected. Fill out all necessary fields. Use the same title as you did for your CFX listing. Select "Public" and change to "Unlisted" from the drop-down menu. Select "Schedule for Later" and set the time and date for your class.

STEP 4 – SET AUDIENCE LIMITATIONS

Under Audience, select “No, it’s not made for kids” and “No, don’t restrict my video to viewers over 18 only”. Then, select "NEXT" (Note: it will take a photo of you!)

STEP 5 – PREPARE TO SHARE

From this screen, you can edit the thumbnail (hover your mouse over the photo), title, and description. To get your share link, click on SHARE. When it's time to go live for your class, click GO LIVE. And remember that you can only go live once per stream.
