Chef Jennifer Jasinski reviews Sautéed calamari at Sushi Sasa
$$$ | Japanese
Northwest, Highland
"This place is a mile or so from all three of my places and it's also on the way home, although that isn't the reason why I go there (but it does help). They always have great, pristine fish. The owner, Wayne Conwell, has built a beautiful, austere space that is comfortable, and they have delicious sake! I like to order the sautéed calamari Korean-style or any hand roll made fresh by EIan or Jesus, my favorite sushi chefs! The Hawaiian-style chopped yellowtail is also delicious."
Chef Elise Wiggins reviews Monkfish liver at Sushi Sasa
$$$ | Japanese
Northwest, Highland
"Chef-owner Wayne Conwell is the master of letting food speak for itself through perfected execution. Try the monkfish liver! It's heaven in one bite. Insider tip: Monkfish liver goes fast, so you should call ahead to see if it's available. Sometimes they'll even reserve some for you."
