About Luis Garza

Chef Luis Garza came to the United States in 1985. Before becoming part of the restaurant scene he worked multiple jobs, including construction among other labor jobs. In 1987, he began working at Ristorante di Modesta before moving into the Andiamo family for 20 years. He later assisted the Andiamo Group as the Head Chef of Rojo Mexican Bistro in Novi. Chef Garza has continuously found inspiration in his mother's cuisine, from his childhood to the years at Andiamo and Rojo Mexican Bistro, to the daily, dedicated help she currently provides at El Asador Steakhouse. His regional inspirations come primarily​ from Puebla, Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, and the coastal regions of Veracruz and Tamaulipas.
