"The pizzas at this neighborhood place are awesome and the chefs use lots of local produce to create seasonal specials. You should also try the pasta!"

"During my sons' spring little league baseball seasons, this is a frequent stop during or after night games to help expedite dinner. The chicken is moist and perfectly marinated. The green sauce has a great kick, and the rice is the key: aromatic, buttery and fluffy. Plus, they give you enough to feed you for two more nights. Amazing food, great portions."

"Interaction is definitely a theme in our family. We love MeeGa for the huge assortment of bonchon condiments, pickles, and kimchi that are continuously replenished like a never-ending bowl. Open flame + scissors + the family = a seriously winning combination."

"This is by far our family's favorite restaurant. We go at least six times a month as it really doesn't get better than authentic Vietnamese phở and fresh rolls. My personal go-to is one summer roll, the #2 brisket phở that has layers of flavor and rich depth, plus a diet Dr. Pepper. I can't imagine a better meal for $8.80."

Super H Mart

"Super H Mart in Fairfax is not really a restaurant, more of a grocery store, but the amount of samples and tastings offered on the weekends can be a real meal. The selection of fresh fish, marinated Korean barbecue meats, kimchi and other condiments, and side dishes is overwhelming. The kids and I enjoy going on Sundays when the place is packed and not for the faint of heart. It's like a combination of roller derby and lacrosse while shopping and noshing."

"It’s a tradition in my family that we get take-out from Bombay Bistro in Fairfax on Sunday nights. The kids always order the chicken tikka makhani, but I always go for the spicy lamb nilgiri and khorma. You can’t forget tons of basmati rice and piping-hot naan to sop everything up."

"This salad is so refreshing and light, the perfect start to an amazing meal. Thinly sliced beef is cured in lime and mixed with sliced red onion, herbs, and greens. The beef is cured perfectly and remains tender. They have a beautiful patio in the summer and can accommodate large groups easily. Try the rice crepes, too. They are also out of this world."

"Doesn't sound special, but the way they fry it is special. The baguette on the toast never gets soggy or greasy. Then you pair that with a well-seasoned shrimp paste and fresh herbs and crisp lettuce. Hot and cold, crisp and herbal, it's the perfect bite."

"Interactive meals are always a big hit with the family, and when I really want to get the sweat rolling on my bald head, we pile in the car and make a dash to Uncle Liu’s Hot Pot in Merrifield. We order the dan dan noodles with half-and-half broth and a side of pork belly mini dumplings. The beef and chicken are great, and the kiwi bubble tea is always a Tunks favorite."
