Kang keaw wan
"There are only a few tables in this Thai grocery store that once housed a Stop-N-Go. The food is made by a mother-and-daughter team, and it's the best and cheapest Thai food in town. The kang keaw wan is made with green curry, Thai eggplant, bamboo shoots, and coconut milk. I am usually not an eggplant guy, but this dish is so flavorful and fresh. I usually get it with chicken. Be sure to get the som tum (green papaya salad) as well, and finish with the mango sticky rice for dessert."

"Asia Market is a small grocery store in the Heights that serves up the best Thai food in the city by some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Be careful with these guys though—sometimes the heat level will melt your face. You can choose Thai, Laos, or Cambodian-style for this green papaya salad. I also order the kee mao noodle and whatever else they recommend."

"This is a hole-in-the-wall type of place that’s half-market and half-café. The fresh mint with spicy beef is off the charts. There are three levels of hot, but I go for the entry level to be on the safe side."
