About Sarah Marshall

After graduating with a degree in Communications and Sociology from Northeastern University, Sarah worked as the private events director at L'Espalier. With a newly found passion for food and wine, she decided to travel to Spain and France to tour vineyards and explore the culinary scene. Upon returning to Boston, she followed her passion while working under Boston's best sommeliers. Beginning at Central Bottle, serving at The Butcher Shop, teaching classes at Stir, managing at The Boston Harbor Hotel, and landing currently as the wine director at Oleana and Sarma Restaurant Group. During those years she has developed a love for Italian, Spanish, French, German, and Austrian wines with a taste of the 'new' California as well. A graduate of BU's Elizabeth Bishop Wine program and a certified Sommelier through the Court of Masters of Sommeliers. Currently she is the Wine Director for Oleana and Sarma Restaurant Group.

At My Venues

Spinach falafel
$$$, Outdoor Seating, Reservations, Full Bar, Mediterranean, Turkish, The Port
"Having falafel with beet yogurt and tahini sauce at Oleana is a rite of passage. This is one of the best dishes in the city, without question. Ana’s falafel is delicate and divine. The problem is that it is hard to eat just a couple. I could easily eat three orders of it and still want more!"
Sultan's Delight
$$$, Outdoor Seating, Reservations, Full Bar, Mediterranean, Turkish, The Port
"This dish is comprised of tamarind beef and a smokey eggplant purée with pine nuts—and has rich flavors that I could never imitate. Ana Sortun is in a class of her own!"
Warm buttered hummus with basturma and tomato
$$$, Outdoor Seating, Reservations, Full Bar, Mediterranean, Turkish, The Port
"There are plenty of great options for small plates to pair with some nicely curated wines at the or outside on Boston's best patio when the season is right. The warm buttered hummus should not be missed, and the fried mussels are great, too."
