About Melody Willis

I grew up in Nigeria, West Africa where it is imperative for the girls to know how to cook. Oh how that worked in my favor! :) I grew up watching my mom and relatives cook simple food rich in flavor. My mother also wrote a cookbook titled 'Dishes of Africa' in her younger days which helped cultivate my love for cooking. In addition, traveling to other parts of the continent with my siblings when I was younger helped in my inspiration for cooking. From the cape-Malay dishes and delicious ostrich meat tried in South Africa to fresh seafood devoured on the beach in Abidjan, Ivory Coast - I couldn't get enough. It was these experiences that fueled the desire to introduce all to the variety of dishes from Africa. I can't wait to meet fellow passionate cooks and Feasters!
